Pink Football Award 2005

Pink Football 2005 Recipient - Cathy Halloran

Cathy Halloran

Cathy Halloran was diagnosed with Invasive Ductile Carcinoma on August 6, 2001 and within 9 days she was admitted into the hospital for a mastectomy.  She went through 5 months of chemotherapy and received her last treatment on January 30, 2002.  She celebrated the end of that chapter in her life with a “No Mo Chemo Party” in April of 2002.

When Cathy was diagnosed she made a vow to God that if he restored her health she would do everything in her power to raise money to help find a cure and educate women.  Each year she has a team for the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk called the “Chicks and Chucks.” Cathy is responsible for raising over $117,000 towards breast cancer research. This year she announced that “Chicks and Chucks” is now a NON-PROFIT organization and will be assisting breast cancer patients who may have little or no insurance, require genetic testing, prothesis, wigs, etc.  Chicks & Chucks will be the support these women need to deal with their challenges.
